Dial-a-Teacher
Dear parents, grandparents, guardians and education activists,
We're happy to tell you that Dial-A-Teacher, the UFT's free homework help hotline, is once again open on Mondays through Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m.!
For the moment, we're only able to offer help in English for English language arts (ELA) and math homework to students in kindergarten through 5th grade. We're hoping to expand to include more subjects, grades and languages soon.
To get live help from a classroom teacher, visit tutor.dialateacher.org during the hours the hotline is open, fill out the form and a UFT member will assist you.
We also want to remind you about the coronavirus resource hub for parents on the UFT website. It's full of family-friendly entertainment, financial relief, remote learning support, free food and health and wellness resources — everything we can think of to help your family through this difficult time. We're constantly adding new information, so keep checking back regularly.
Last, don't forget that if you or your child needs to talk to a mental health professional, you can call the UFT BRAVE Hotline at 212-709-3222 on any weekday between 2:30 and 9:30 p.m.
Be well, and thank you for being a part of the UFT community.
Sincerely,
Betty Zohar
UFT Parent and Community Liaison
