Summer Programs

Neighborhood Work Play Kids Theatre is a literacy and theater program for children 5-10 years old.  Our summer program is unique and is from 9:00am - 4:00pm Monday to Friday starting June 28 to August 25.  We work with students to improve their reading, writing, math skills and also provide them with opportunities to learn how to eat healthy, exercise and explore different cultures.  

Mornings (Monday - Friday) 9am to 11:30am - scheduled visits to Brooklyn Central Library at Grand Army Plaza.    Parents will drop students at Library at 9:00am for our tutoring in reading writing and read alouds.  

                            12pm - 1:15pm - Lunch, Rest and Educational Games-

Afternoons (Monday - Friday) 1:30pm to 3:45pm, depending on the day of the week, students will have scheduled visits to Brooklyn Museum to explore South American culture, Brooklyn Botanic Garden for Math and Nutrition, Brooklyn Zoo for Science and Prospect Park for exercise (aerobics, muscle strengthening, stability and balance, flexibility).  Students will return at 4pm everyday to Central Library. 
 
    End of Summer Projects -  Readers Theater performance of “Juana and Lucas” and a Dance performance (Cumbia) on August 25, 2023. Food at performance will be Ajiaco.  Place of performance will be announced.
