Show Transcript kindergarten at PS 249 is where children's about the foundation for academic success and we take pride in knowing our students well both formal and informal assessments are embedded in our destruction so that we know each child's individual strengths and weakness as math is one of our core areas of focus we believe that in addition to being fluent in the basics of math children should be able to talk about their math work and explain the strategy used SPS 249 children learn how to read read aloud phonics lessons and reading and writing Workshop by the end of the school year are kindergarteners know all their letters in Spanish they can read Level D book and they can write fiction and nonfiction text across three or more pages are teachers work in small groups to ensure that each child is being challenged at their individual next.
